WATER SOURCES STRATEGIC MONITORING
The Ministry of Energy & Water Resources of Jubaland with support from the Somali Water and Land Information Management (SWALIM) project, supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), focuses on empowering Somali institutions to efficiently manage and utilize water and land resources.
REHABILITATION/UPGRADING AND QUICK FIX OF WATER SOURCES IN GEDO AND LOWER JUBA REGIONS.
The project is funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), supported by UNICEF, and implemented by the Jubaland Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, aims to address critical water access challenges in regions where vulnerable populations depend on shallow groundwater amidst inadequate urban water infrastructure
Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) -Emergency response in Dhobley/Afmadow Districts of Lower Juba Region - Jubaland
The ministry of energy and water resources in partnership with unicef is planning to carry out the rehabilitation and upgrading of water schemes in Dhobley and Afmadow districts in Lower Juba province. The project aims to improve access to water services for the communities in Afmadow and Dhobley towns.
Emergency Response - ECHO Villages - Belethawa
Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Jubaland (MoEWR), in collaboration with UNICEF, is undertaking drilling of boreholes in the ECO villages of Malkarie, Gawido, ODA, and the BEWASCO water yard in the Gedo region of Jubaland State, Somalia. In each village, three sites were selected for the drilling of the boreholes.
Emergency Rehabilitation of a Water System - Kismaayo(ECHO)
The Ministry of Energy and water Resources of Jubaland with support from UNICEF have successful completed rehabilitation of one motorized water scheme (Ambiyo system) and the routine maintenance of 29 hand-dug shallow wells in Kismayo District, Lower Juba Region, Jubaland State, Somalia.
